Our love for our land becomes hospitality
We are Francesco Mastrangelo and Antonella Terzi, owners of Masseria Bosco Petraro, a unique place nestled in the countryside of Gioia del Colle, in the heart of Puglia. Our story has deep roots, both personal and professional. We met in 1989, during our first year of university, immediately sharing a passion for agronomy. Both with degrees in Agricultural Science, Francesco has been a freelance professional for over 30 years, while I joined him about a decade later.

Francesco's family and their tradition in the agricultural world
His parents owned a citrus farm, and Francesco chose to carry on this legacy with dedication and innovation. In 2000, with the birth of our son Giuseppe, we planted the first Primitivo wine grape vineyard in Acquaviva delle Fonti, thus starting a shared dream. Subsequently, we built a winery that initially offered services to third parties, until, in 2013, we began to produce our own wine, starting with a few bottles dedicated to our most loyal customers and gradually increasing the production of both Primitivo red wines and white wines.
In 2012, we took over the management of new land to expand the vineyard area, and in 2019, the opportunity arose to purchase Masseria Bosco Petraro. Initially, the purchase was aimed at agricultural management, but we soon realized that the structure, dating back to the late 1800s, was perfect to become a place of hospitality. So we embarked on a major renovation project, completed on October 7, 2023, giving life to a new adventure.
Masseria Bosco Petraro
The estate extends over approximately 30 hectares and includes 10 hectares of vineyards, mainly Primitivo, 7.5 hectares of cherry orchards with varieties such as Giorgia and Ferrovia, 2.5 hectares of olive groves, 2 hectares of almond groves, 1 hectare of walnut groves, and a magnificent 7-hectare forest composed of downy oaks and Valonia oaks. The forest is crossed by a circular path equipped with fences, picnic areas, gym equipment, and small rides, ideal for walks and moments of relaxation. Our philosophy has always been to enhance what the land offers us. We have converted the farm to organic farming and recently started producing a Ferrovia cherry compote and an extra virgin olive oil, a blend of our varieties.

The perfect integration of nature and tradition
The centuries-old oak trees that adorn the garden and vineyards are the symbol of our dedication and respect for the environment. Here, guests can enjoy authentic experiences: stroll through the rows of vines, immerse themselves in the scents of the Apulian countryside, read a book by the lit fireplace while sipping a glass of our wine, and listen to the sounds of nature in total tranquility.
Bosco Petraro is not only our refuge but a corner of authentic Puglia that we have decided to share with the world. We welcome guests from all over the globe, offering them the opportunity to discover the beauty of our land, to share our passions, and to create unforgettable memories.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Masseria Bosco Petraro, we value the gifts of the land through sustainable and organic practices. We produce Primitivo wines, extra virgin olive oil, and Ferrovia cherry compote, symbols of a processing that respects the environment and tradition
